For many years there have been awards to recognise front of house staff working in hotels. However, with more and more of these outstanding individuals moving over to the corporate world, attracted by higher salaries, a better work life balance and the opportunity to build a rewarding career in some of the most fantastic organisations in the world, it was the right time to create an opportunity to recognise and celebrate these talented people.

This has led to the launch of this new award for Corporate Receptionist of the Year.

Coinciding with International Receptionists’ Day.

Who is this award aimed at?

This award is aimed at any professional front of house receptionist who is working in a recognised corporate office, providing reception services to visiting clients and guests.

The Competition

Each year, applicants can download an application form which will ask a number of questions about themselves. There will then be a section where the applicant’s manager must endorse them. These entries will then be judged by an eminent panel of judges who will shortlist 10 people for interviews and face to face role plays to decide the overall winner.

The Prizes

All finalists will receive a complimentary place on the one-day, Condeco Certified Professional (CCP) – Front of House training course.

As well as the trophy and title of Corporate Receptionist of The Year, the winner will receive the following prizes to be presented at a special awards event on International Receptionists’ Day, Wednesday 8th May 2019.

New York!

The opportunity to cross train at up to three leading Corporate offices of their choice in New York, including flights and Hotel accommodation and meals, or in three leading Corporate offices in London, with accommodation and meals as appropriate (subject to approvals and vetting requirements).

Dinner for two

Dinner for two at a leading Michelin-starred Restaurant in London.

Leadership Development

Two full day Leadership Development Programmes.

The Judges

Chair of the judges will be Paula McMinn, Customer Service Facilitator at the Dorchester Collection Academy. The academy offers bespoke learning programmes focused on customer service and inspirational leadership for aspirational brands.

She is a former winner of the Hotel Receptionist of the Year competition in 2015 when she was working at the Savoy Hotel.  She has an excellent understanding of what makes a great receptionist having also served on the judging panel for Receptionist of the Year and will bring this experience to bear to ensure the Corporate Receptionist of the Year competition will mirror the high standards and integrity of the Hotel version of the awards.

Joining Paula on the judging panel will be an experienced team of executives who all have significant experience in the corporate sector. They are drawn from some of the leading front of house outsourcing companies in the marketplace, as well as front of house leaders from a number of  leading organisations that are run independently, as well as representatives from our sponsors.
